You Were Chosen By God.

You Were Chosen By God.

This Week’s Biblical Affirmation;

You were CHOSEN

by God.

“You did not choose me, but I chose you and appointed you so that you might go and bear fruit—fruit that will last—and so that whatever you ask in my name, the Father will give you.”
‭‭John‬ ‭15‬:‭16‬ ‭NIV‬‬

This week I was interviewed on Awaken Moms, and there was a moment that stood out to me that I wanted to share with you. Kerri Jeter from Hope Writers asked me what advice I would give moms raising kids in this post-Christian generation. In all disclosure, I had to look that up! I had no idea what that meant, and when I discovered the answer via Wikipedia, it broke my heart!

Here is the definition, “Postchristianity is the situation in which Christianity is no longer the dominant civil religion of society but has gradually assumed values, culture, and worldviews that are not necessarily Christian. Post-Christian tends to refer to the loss of Christianity's monopoly in historically Christian societies.”

Heartbreaking right?

So, here is how I answered this question, and this is the same encouragement I would give to you whether you are a mom or not.

You were CHOSEN by God at such a time as this (John 15:16). In this generation, in this season, at this moment. Not only did God specifically choose you for such a time as this, but He will also equip you, strengthen you and lead you through this post-Christian society we live in.

Now I’m going to double down and say you were chosen to be your child’s mother or father at this time. You have nothing to fear. He instilled unique personality traits, gifts, and communication skills that make you uniquely qualified to make an impact, being who God designed you to be. The Holy Spirit equips us to be fearless, facing opposition boldly! Speaking truth in love, unmoved by the threats of being canceled, outcast, or rejected.

God is the provider of all things. He gives, and He takes away (Job 1:21).

He has already won a victory over the enemy, so we have nothing to lose.

“You, dear children, are from God and have overcome them because the one who is in you is greater than the one who is in the world.”

‭‭1 John‬ ‭4‬:‭4‬ ‭NIV‬‬

This doesn’t mean we won’t suffer like Paul and be imprisoned, but as God did Paul (Acts 16:16-40), He will see us through every trial we face if we are allowing Him to lead us. Jesus says, take up your cross and follow me.

In Luke 9:23, Jesus looks at his disciples and tells them, "Whoever wants to be my disciple must deny themselves and take up their cross and follow me. For whoever wants to save their life will lose it, but whoever loses their life for me will find it."

My prayer is that this encourages you to walk boldly, unmoved, and unafraid in this post-Christian society and know that God chose YOU, my sweet friend, for such a time as this. You were CHOSEN.

Love, Bethannah xoxo

This Months Biblical

Self-Care Tip Is;

FELLOWSHIP

“not giving up meeting together, as some are in the habit of doing, but encouraging one another—and all the more as you see the Day approaching.”
‭‭Hebrews‬ ‭10‬:‭25‬ ‭

The Christmas Season can be hard for many. Lonely or overwhelming for most. This is a critical time to be intentional about reaching out and connecting with others. Not only does it fill your soul because God designed us to be in relationships, but it also helps others feel seen, loved and valued through your intentional acts of fellowship.

Here are some creative ideas for Fellowship this Christmas Season;

1. Christmas Carols: Invite a group of friends to practice Christmas carols & pick dates as a group to sing for your neighbors this a Christmas Season.

2. Make A Phone Call: Make a personal phone call, not a text to an old friend or relative this month that you haven’t heard from or connected with in awhile. As how they are doing and reconnect.

3. Coffee Date: Plan a coffee date with 1 to 2 friends and enjoy intimate conversation and fellowship.

4. Bake Cookies: Invite friends or family over to decorate Christmas cookies to gift to the elderly, homeless, first responders or a Veteran. Remind someone this Christmas season that they are seen and loved.

Where Are We?
Have you ever been to a National Park? I think we have been to 16 now and our goal is to hit all 62 of them. So far my favorite one has been The Redwood National Park in Northern California. This picture reminds me of “Where’s Waldo?” Can you see Elijah & Pennelope? 😆🤣 Barely, right? The fact that God created trees this big blew our minds. I highly recommend exploring this National Park. You will be so captivated by the Beauty of this unique rain forest & all the animals that call it home.

NEWS! 📰🗞️

This Thanksgiving we practiced what I wrote in my last blog post, to be thankful for the good bad and ugly. We had such a wonderful Thanksgiving with our family in Phoenix.

We were overwhelmed with gratitude when my husband accepted a new job out of Washington State. We fell in love with Washington State over the summer and asked God to lead us to where He wanted our family to be. (We thought it would be the South 🤣) We never expected it to be Washington, but we aren’t surprised because I know God has a plan to use us there.

We are so excited to call Washington home & praying for a white 🎄 . (My daughter has never seen SNOW & she has been praying for it ❄️☃️)

Although we will still be traveling quite a bit, we are so thankful to create community and have a beautiful place to land. We are literally in the process of moving as I write. So excited about this new adventure. ❤️
